About Spanish

The true and correct Spanish language or Castilian is the language of Spain. As time went by in the Latin American countries, every country began to adopt their own words that either derived from the native Indian population, the African slaves, or just slang words that became part of the vocabulary of the population.

It is a fact that many words that denote an object or an adjective in one country can be  offensive words in another country. That is the dilemma for the interpreter/translator of the "Spanish" language.

As every country develops new "slang" words it is the responsibility of the interpreter to be able to keep up with the changes and be prepared to possess the dictionaries that will decipher the meaning of the words of the drug culture, gun terms, or just plain vulgate, etc. For example, the Mexican and the  "Chicano" vocabulary will refer to drug paraphernalia or the  act of taking illegal drugs in "slang" words that the addicts in Peru would not recognize.

It is the duty of the Interpreter/Translator to  be  correct in meaning and content when performing the duties of the profession. A good Interpreter/Translator is equipped with manuals, and dictionaries that try to address these variances in language and or slang in all the Latin American countries and in America.
